Hey there peoples.......very long time......nothing!!!!! We've had Christmas and New Year and a lot of stuff happen here. I now have a child with an unknown heart problem so we are in the middle of trying to find out what's wrong. I have had hives really bad for over 2 months and now find out that it's just an infection...PHEW!!! Back to school was last week for us and I have had appointments for the heart problem and then another one decided to get sick as well. I am really hoping that once the weekend is over that it will be all back to school and life will return to "normal" (what ever that is!! LOL) Not much scrapping has been happening but I am trying to fix that problem :)

Before Christmas and all the chaos hit, I heard about this new challenge blog starting up. The inspiration is a fabulous idea....kid's toys!!!! With 4 boys, I have a whole load of toys in the house and love the idea!!! They are having a DT call - which I nearly missed.

Hi everybody, I have no excuses for being so slack. But I have been busy while I have been so slack!! So here is everything that I have been doing since I last updated. Most of it is DT work and some of it is for fun. The fairy garden, Alice in Halloween and the butterfly cage have been uploaded onto the Twiddleybitz ning gallery. It hasn't got quite all the colours required because my dodgy printer printed out the picture badly and silly me didn't go back and check the colours before I did my page. Oh well it turned out pretty good anyway.

Mystery Challenge - Scrap With V CC

Me again......I got to finish the mystery challenge!!! YAY!!! Here it is......

I even made up my own limerick for it....hehehehe

There once was a boy named Braiden,
Who loved to eat Vegemite while playin',
He ate it on his toast,
Got it on his face the most,
But now it's Nutella to which he's changin'.

Scrap With V CC

We had our CC over at Scrap With V last Friday night and the design team came up with some really cool challenges. First up we had Tina's colour challenge

Main colours RED BLACK AND WHITE and you have to use a text out of a LOVE SONG for your title!!

So this is what I did with that criteria......

Challenge 2 was a sketch with Valerie Bishop.

And here is what I did with it....

I cut the top left square out and hung a heart in the space.

The next challenge was the DT only challenge. Our criteria was
use five buttons
paper pleating
chipboard and alter it in some way - emboss distress etc

use Amy Benders origami hearts on your layout from the tutorial on the blog here

and lastly you must use lace

And again here is what I did with it....

I have finally collected all my toilet rolls for the mystery challenge. Hopefully I will get some time to do it very shortly. I have got a sick child at the moment. He has had bronchial pneumonia and now has pleurisy. So I have spent way too much time sitting at doctor's offices this week. He is on sooo many tablets and medicines at the moment, so hopefully it won't be long and he'll back at school. It's hard when he's Grade 9 and missing out on so much work.

Scrapbudz monthly challenges

Scrapbudz has changed over to a blog instead of a forum and has three challenges for you all to take part in this month. The first one is a sketch challenge.

Here is my take on it. It's one of the photos from the cruise that DH and I went on at the end of January.

The next one is an inspiration challenge. You have to take inspiration from the picture below and create a layout from it.
I took inspiration from the wedding theme and created the page below.

And the final challenge is the Latte and Cream challenge. The following was served up for morning tea in the Scrapbudz Cafe and we are to use the colours in the picture to create a page.

Tell us a little about your layout... Why you chose what you did.

My layout......hmmmm......my lovely husband has been applying for jobs all over Australia. So by the end of the year, it is a fairly sure bet that we will be beginning a new life in a new town before the year is out. I don't really know that I want to leave where I am but sometimes you have to do what you have to do hey?? And it all be a new adventure ( well that's what I keep telling the kids!!)

I dived into the scraps for this one...there's some Basic Grey, some Kaiser and some Bo Bunny I think. The chippie bits are Scrap FX coloured with Smooches Ink.

I have busy all week trying to get everything done........between kids stuff, Christmas stuff and scrapping stuff I have been flat out. I didn't get all the challenges finished coz I have just run out of time but here is what I have done.

Our first challenge was

My challenge is a three part challenge:

1 .Scrap a Christmas layout
2. based on a night time activity
3. using NO Christmas themed supplies :)

This is the sketch over at Scrap With V designed by Kim Kendall.

And here is my version of it......
This is from my DT kit from Scrap Pile. I am totally full of DT kits at the moment. I just keep plugging away at them and get them all done in time. The papers are Graphic 45 (I love that company). And the chipboard is Dusty Attic. I love this verse (and felt it was absolutely appropriate for me) and it was total inspiration for the page.
The verse reads: Twas the night before Christmas, I'm glued to the tree. I'm wondering what Santa has bought just for me. Could it be cardstock or inkpads or lace? Or some stamps, I said, with a smile on my face. And that's when I heard him......"Hi Santa," I said. He replied, "You know....good girls should be in their beds". "I know I should Santa, and now I've been caught. But I was just so excited to see what you bought." "Well, let's take a look in this room where you work". He shook his head quickly, and left with a jerk. I heard him exclaim as he put it in gear. "You've got enough crap, I'll see you next year!"
I'm not sure where it's come from so it's not credited to anyone - it was handed to me the other week because they thought it was appropriate for me...hehehehe!!!

The next 3 are from my DT kit for Scrapbudz, I still have more to do from my kit!! I didn't get much time to do any scrapping last month so I am hoping to get to it again this month.

This was a bit of a challenge for me....not really!!! I have a new obsession....Dusty Attic chipboard. So when my LSS got an order in, I was a big bit thrilled!!! LOL I was given the frame to play with and this is the end result......
I did another canvas....using the Graphic 45 Steampunk Debutante range again. Here's the link to the other canvas that I did using these papers. I love how they both finished up and how opposite they are.

Guess what!!!!!!!!! I applied for another Design Team position...........and I got it!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have joined the lovely ladies and fabulous talent at Scrap With V!!!! I received my first kit in the mail today and it's soooo cute. I can't start on it tomorrow though coz I'll be busy so I have to be strong and put it aside until Sunday or Monday :(
I hope I live up to expectations and thank you soooooo much for the opportunity Ness......I'm excited!!! :D

This one I did for this month's sketch challenge at Scrap With V. I loved the colour of Braiden's tongue so I took some inspiration from that!!
These next one are for DT work for Scrap Pile. I used the 6x6 paper stacks from Prima and then a lot of stash. The one of Declan is using the Graphic 45 Steam punk papers - I can't stop raving about this range.....I totally love it. I think people are getting sick of hearing me talk about it but I can't help it - I LOVE IT!!!!!! LOL

I totally loved how this turned out. I used Graphic 45's new Steam punk range - I am soo in love with this range. I also used lots of bits and pieces from my stash. It just all kind of fell into place once I started and then went back every day for a few days and added more little bits here and there. I was inspired by the lady in the top hat - I just loved her image. I got a little bit brave and uploaded it onto 2 Peas In A Bucket and it's been viewed over 100 times so I am quite chuffed at that

challenges and just coz!!

Hey all, I'm back with a bit more to show.
The first photo is showing our handmade flowers from a swap I organised at Scrapbudz. I think there is a lot of yummy flowers there.

Next is a page inspired by a sketch put up by the lovely Chris at Scrapbudz.

A card and a matching envelope that I made for a friend's son for his birthday.

Next is some DT work for Scrap Pile. The lovely Gill sent me the Mammarazzi papers from Bo Bunny to work with. The first one I cut all the flourishy bits and pieces from the papers and arranged them around the photo.The next one is just using the left overs from the Mammarazzi papers. All I did was ink the edges and stuck them down as was.

Some of these are for the six weeks of summer competition that run was by the lovely ladies at Scrap Pile. Some are for the challenges that were on the Scrapbudz site. Unfortunately Scrapbudz forum was closed down due to private reasons as was the Shabbychic Butterflies and Bows challenge blog. Lucky for me though I have found the ladies that I chatted to on Scrapbudz on other sites and have joined those forums - more chatting to more ladies and more challenges to participate in!! LSS is loving all these completed challenges because it means a whole lot of new work to go on display!!!!!

I've joined another forum...... Scrap pile. Another lovely friendly bunch of ladies that sure like to talk. They are running a fabulous competition called the Lazy Days of Summer. It's running over six weeks and has a wonderful prize at the end. The first week of this comp was a water theme and we had to use paint somehow. I splattered paint over the background - that was so much fun - I also used glimmermist on the flourishes and H2O's on the monster.
This one is a sketch challenge for Scrap With V.
And this is my entry for January's Black With 2 challenge blog. The criteria was black background, crisp white, snowflakes, glitter and lace.

A hot chocolate challenge at Scrapbudz....using chocolate background, orange and white. I wasn't sure about the colour combination but I think I made it work.
This one, I'm afraid, is a total lift. I saw it in a magazine and really liked it, so I copied it. I had these photos of Declan and Avram wrestling one day and knew they would be perfect for this page.

Another two from the Scrapbudz cc....the top one is one of my challenges....54321 Christmas countdown. 5 Christmas embellishments, 4 different colours, 3 layers in one section of the LO, 2 word title and 1 photo. The one below was a blind challenge. The circle around the "photo bauble" is acetate. Again I changed a few things around to suit myself.

I used the last sheet of pp from my Scrapbudz DT pack to make some cards. I also got a packet of "U" letters from a friend for Christmas. I wasn't sure what I was going to do with them and then thought they were perfect for these cards.

These 2 are from the scrapbudz cc....we were given a site with the instructions and we all went from there. There were a few different sets of instructions so I did two different versions. Again using Kaiser papers.

Scrapbudz cc......double page LO challenge set for us....had to use non traditional colours, lots of photos and silver. So my non traditional colour just had to be pink!!!
I set the OTP challenge....using a paper doily or part thereof and 2 other non-scrappy items.

Scrapbudz had their cc that ended up running from November through to January. The regulars all contributed a challenge or two each and we ended with 7 challenges to do. The LO above is from a sketch challenge. The sketch is from Kaiser's Q1 mag. I used some of my really old papers for this one. It's Braiden with Mum opening presents for his first Christmas.

This one we were given basic instructions to make a Christmas decoration. I kind of fiddled with the instructions to suit myself and then made two decorations.
This is my DT page for Shabbychic Butterflys and Bows challenge for January. We had to use gold, a sheet of music and/or a Christmas verse.

Challenges at Scrap With V

I took part in the CC over at Scrap With V last week. But life was way too hectic for the week and I didn't get to upload them in time to be part of the judging. Oh well, maybe next time.

This was Annie's challenge. Had to take inspiration from a poem that Annie had very cleverly penned herself to the rhythm of "These are A Few Of My Favourite Things" from the Soumd Of Music. Also had to use brown paper packages tied up with string as an embellishment. This is Braiden, he has been so enchanted by the Christmas tree this year. I was catching him just sitting on the lounge and staring at the tree with a smile on his face. He had just one little problem though....I was told regularly that the tree was beautiful but it was missing something. When I asked what was missing, I was promptly told "The presents!!!!" LOL

This is KylieJ's challenge. We had to use a Christmas photo, 1 Christmas paper, stick to the CC colours, use lots of bling and use acetate in a creative way. I cut out the Christmas tree shape and used a Hambly Screenprint in my shape and just decorated it. The photo is of Robbie and Declan when they were little in home made Sants beards and their Santa hats.

This is a closer shot of the tree to show the screen print.

This is Jodi's live mystery challenge. I completed it later because I forgot (I know I'm naughty) that it was on. Jodi gave us the instructions and we all went from there. Loved the way the tissue paper flowers turned out. This is Braiden eating some little cakes that we couldn't resist buying for him when we saw them last Christmas.
This was a sketch challenge by Tina. No criteria on this one, just keep it like the sketch. This is Robbie and Declan when they were younger at the ABC Daycare Christmas party held at Southbank. I got to use some photos here that I never thought I would ever use because they were to dodgy. But you;ll never know what you'll use.

My darling boys posing in their very first christmas photo shoot. I took them down the road so there was no "civilisation" in the background and took photos of them amongst the dry grass to depict a true Aussie Bush christmas in the dry, parched bush!!

This one I did just coz I wanted too!!! I painted the frame, glimmermisted over masks on the mirror and then added the quote and flowers. Quote says "Don't dwell on what went wrong. Instead, focus on what to do next. Spend your energies on moving forward toward finding the answer." Denis Waitley.

This I have had for a while and not totally sure what to do with it. I had a basic idea in my head but wasn't sure after that. It's a 12x12 chipboard cutout from Buzz and Bloom. So the other day I just sat and played and ended up with this!!!!!!!!!!!

My take on sketch #2 at Scrapbudz. Love the bright colours on this one.

Darling Declan again!!!! From my DT pack. This one pushed my boundary somewhat. Not a patterned paper that I would normally buy so I really had to think about how to use this one.

The lovely Sammi set us a blind challenge over at Scrapbudz. She heard about the thing I have about putting birds on pages (I just don't understand it) and set about to fix the situation for me. So now I have a page with an obvious bird on it!!! Thanks Sammi!!!

This is my example for this month's challenge at Shabby Chic Butterflys and Bows. The challenge was set by Jodi Dolbel this month. The criteria is primary white, flowers and beading with inspiration to be taken from a picture that Jodie found. Have a go and see what you come up with and email it in by November 16. My name was drawn out of the hat the other week in a competition at Pink Paislee in connection to Facebook. I was meant to receive a sheet of each of the patterned papers from each of the new releases. There was some of the new ranges in my little parcel and a whole lot more. I was very impressed with my little haul. Thanks Pink Paislee!!

On a whim I loaded the clock and memo board that I did on to the Kaisercraft gallery. I really liked the way Renee Ludlow did the bird house. So I did one too but turned it into a clock! And made the memo board in the same style. They will look so good in our kitchen coz it just so happens that the colours all match in just nicely.

Anyway, this afternoon I was reading through Kaisercraft's newsletter and lo and behold, there's my clock!!! It is very exciting to see your work unexpectedly like that.

I had a friend give me some little clear plastic shoes the other day. I was wondering what to do with them when I remembered the shoes that Kaisercraft had in their Q1 magazine. So I painted them up and then blinged them up. The little butterfly on the toe is to acknowledge my obsession with butterflies. They turned out so cute!!

I did this one for me. I look at layouts like this on the net and just drool. I think they are beautiful. So I decided to give one a go and this is what I ended up with. I love it. Now to do a few more.

This one is for the Black With 2 Challenge blog. I like this blog. This time you had use dominant black (as always), blue, orange, a diecut and foam or felt letters for the title. I think I covered all the criteria!!

OMG I think I worked it out!!!! Let's see how I go for the next one.

This one I just emailed of to 123 Challenge. For this challenge you had to use the word 'smile', some book paper and a non-scrapping item. I saw something the other day about ironing the plastic shopping bags and re-using them. Another form of recycling those blasted things!!! Anyway I gave it a go and it turned out really cool so I used them for the scallop trims and punched the flowers out of them.

I'm really enjoying doing these challenges. It's just whether or not I have the courage to actually send them off to the actual challenge that is the real issue. This is the first time I've sent one into this challenge. I always look at all the work on the various sites and think that my work isn't really up to that standard. But I am trying to take a new approach....if I don't give it a go then I will never know!!! So far it is working.

It's been a while since I started this. I'm still trying to work out what I'm doing and I've been sooooo tired that I haven't really done much other than what I've needed too. So now I will try to upload some of my latest work.

Well, it looks like I have finally done it! I've been thinking about doing this for a while but just haven't really known what to do. But there is nothing like jumping in the deep end and seeing how you go.......so I've taken the dive!! I've been checking out other blogs for quite a while and liked the idea of being able to show my work in one place. And some of my long distance friends can get on and see what I'm up too.

I've been scrapping for nearly 3 years now. I took my first class when my baby was 6 weeks old and he is 3 next weekend. I did card making for a year or so before I started scrapping. I was trying to resist scrapbooking for a long time because I knew once I started I would be hooked and sure enough I was.

Once I work out what I am doing then I will starting putting up some of my layouts.
