Scrapbook Kits With A Difference Blog Hop

Scrapbook Kits With A Difference, and the Design Team, would like to welcome you to our first ever Recipe Layout Blog Hop. We'd like to share this special event with you, and to celebrate, we are offering three kits from Scrapbook Kits With A Difference, for 3 lucky people.

The blog hop begins at the Scrapbook Kits with A Difference (SKWAD) blog. On the SKWAD blog you will find a complete list of all the designers participating in the blog hop, in case there is a glitch along the way (see further down). If you would like to play with us, just follow along the blog path. Each SKWAD designer is linking to the next designer, and that designer is linking to the next, and so on. Be prepared to find lots of inspiration along the way. Just for you, each of our designer's have created a layout using the Blog Hop Recipe (below). Our 3 lucky winners will be randomly chosen after the hop is over. Woot! Woot!

The Recipe Blog Hop starts today, July 15th and runs through until 22nd July (midnight AUS Eastern Standard Time). The three winners will be announced on the SKWAD blog on Tuesday 24th July. All you need to do, to be in the draw to win one of the fabulous Scrapbook Kits kits, is the following:

1. Become a follower on our SKWAD blog.
2. Like us on our Facebook Page (link can be found on the top right side of the blog).
3. Add our SKWAD blinkie to your blog (found on the top left side of our blog).
4. Leave a comment on each designer's blog, and on the SKWAD blog too.
5. If you create, and share a layout, using our Blog Hop Recipe, you will receive 5 extra tickets in the draw.  Please link your completed layout to the Recipe Blog Hop post. (To qualify for the extra tickets, it must be a direct link to the layout, not just a general link to your blog). Alternatively, please send your completed email to scrapbookkitswithjules@gmail.com.

Blog Hop Recipe:
3 photos, 1 cardstock, 2 patterned papers, a wet medium (eg. paint, gesso, spray mist), a mask (purchased or home-made), raw chipboard, 5 buttons (or brads), 3 rows of text, twine (or string), and 2 butterflies. Flowers, ribbons, and bling, are all optional.
Here is my layout that I created from the blog hop recipe....
*I have cardstock for my background (of course)
*my 2 pattern papers are from Sandylion and the free paper from Australian Scrapbook Memories.
*the wet medium I used is textured gel medium that I splashed all over the cardstock, it dried clear and shiny so that is what you can see on the background
*my mask was a circle mask that I placed down and went around with a paint pen
*the raw chipboard is the flourish from a pack of grungeboard
*I used 5 buttons from my massive collection of buttons
*3 rows of text are there
*I wrapped string around my fingers and roughly glued it down and threaded twine through the buttons
* I punched 2 butterflies from the free paper that I used and outlined them in red
*and I added a bit of bling around my photos.

Scrapbook Kits With A Difference

Hey y'all

I'm here again...

This time for Scrapbook Kits With A Difference Sketch Challenge.

Here is the sketch

And here is my page from the sketch

I had fun doing this one...I just slapped a bit here and a bit there and liked how it ended up. And I liked these colours together...that was a happy accident :)

So head on over and see what you can do with the sketch!!

Scrapbook Kits With A Difference

Have you ever thought about buying a kit from an on-line store??
Well if you have (or haven't), have you ever looked at the kits available over at Scrapbook Kits With A Difference??

Jules makes up the best kits!! And how do I know?? Because I create pages from the kits that Jules makes!!
When you buy a kit you get everything needed to make the layouts featured in the kit, photos of the layouts and instructions to make the featured layouts. So if you looking at getting started in the scrapping world, or just need to give the mojo a kick start, then why not try a kit??

Here are the 2 layouts I created from my kit this month

CLASS KITS - JULY 2012 - BEAUTIFUL & PRINCESS - 2 SINGLE PAGE LAYOUTS
Ok, so those that know me will know that they aren't my children in those photos....I had to borrow some girl photos this time because nothing I had was suitable. The photo on the left is Jules' (the boss lady) daughter and the other photo is the girls of a fellow Design Team member, Petra. Thank you ladies for allowing me to use your beautiful girls on my pages at such short notice.

I also have pre-made layouts available at the online store for sale...all you need to do is add your own photo/s.

Crafty Sketches

This time I am here to show off the sketch I chose for this month at Crafty Sketches
I chose a sketch from Beggahuna
I love her sketches because they are always different.

Here is the sketch I chose

I loved the heart on the page and thought it left a lot open to interpretation!!

So I created a little wall hanging for Braiden to show off his latest award from school (he is always bringing home awards).

Because of the limited space on the clipboard I pretty much followed the sketch as is and had some elements hang off the edge.

So I dare you to head over there and have a go at the sketch for yourself!!! :)

Scrapbook Kits With A Difference

Hello there lovelies!!
It's the first day July and you now what that means....challenges!!!

So first up we will start with the Inspiration Challenge at Scrapbook Kits With A Difference

This month we had to take inspiration from this cute little picture found on Pinterest....Oh my how I love Pinterest....it is one of the best time wasters there is on the net!!

Here is the picture

A very different colour combination but still very versatile.

I did something different this month and completed an Off The Page item instead. I get bored doing pages all the time so I like to step out of the zone and create something a bit different sometimes.
So this month I created this

It's a Twiddleybitz frame that I have had sitting around for the longest time.
The quote says:
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain!!

The photo was taken during the big floods in Queensland at the beginning of last year. We got stranded on our way home from a holiday at Noosa. We couldn't do the last bridge crossing and had to stay overnight in a motel in a town only 20 minutes drive from home. This photo is that bridge crossing. A back road opened briefly the next day so we took the opportunity. We had to do a four hour round trip to get home. After that we stayed home!! LOL

So back to the challenge.........why not head over and have a go at the inspiration challenge yourself. I would love to see what you come up with :)
